Olympic Stadium---Hoquiam, Washington

by Dennis Wood
(Lacey Washington)

A great stadium that hosted baseball, football, little league, Babe Ruth baseball. Hoquiam High School played their baseball and football games here. Jessie Owens was there at one time and ran the bases for show I am told. A great place to play hide an seek games. I hid in the rafters and was hard to find me. One if the oldest football rivalries in the country between Hoquiam and next door neighbor Aberdeen took place Thanksgiving day for many years. I could see the stadium from my bedroom window.
